Hotel New Grand is a historic hotel in Yokohama overlooking Yamashita Park and Yokohama Bay. This is an elegant luxury hotel which over the years has hosted many well-known Japanese writers and international celebrity guests such as Charlie Chaplin, Babe Ruth, Jean Cocteau, and General MacArthur.

The original Yokohama Grand Hotel opened in 1873, but it was forced to close in 1923 due to the damage caused by the Great Kanto Earthquake. Hotel New Grand was built to replace it. Hotel New Grand now consists of two connected buildings: the Main Building which was constructed in 1927 and the Tower Building which was constructed in 1991.
This hotel has excellent facilities which include several fine dining options, massage and beauty salons, and stores selling souvenirs, fashion, and accessories. This location is convenient both for local transport and for sightseeing destinations such as Chinatown, Motomachi Shopping Street, the Hikawa Maru museum ship, and the Yokohama Doll Museum.

Hotel New Grand has three restaurants, two cafés, and a bar. Breakfast is available at two locations.
Panoramic Restaurant Le Normandie is located on the 5th floor of the Tower Building and serves breakfast between 7.00 and 10.00. There are a range of set breakfasts available to suit your appetite, but eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, yoghurt, salad, tea, coffee, and juices are all available. This restaurant also serves French cuisine for lunch between 11.45 and 14:30, and for dinner between 17.30 and 21.00 (with last orders at 20.00).
Kyoto Cuisine Yugyoan Tankuma is located on the 5th floor of the Main Building and serves breakfast between 7.00 and 10.00. Breakfast is a set Japanese meal consisting of grilled fish, rice, miso soup, and a variety of side dishes. This restaurant also serves traditional Japanese gourmet cuisine for lunch between 11.30 and 14.30 and for dinner between 17.00 and 22.00 (with last orders at 21.00).
Il Giardino is a casual Italian restaurant on the 1st floor of the Main Building serving lunch between 11.30 and 16.30 (with last orders at 15.30) and dinner between 17.00 and 21.00 (with last orders at 20.00)
Lobby Lounge La Terrasse on the 1st floor of the Main Building serves coffee, tea, and desserts between 12.00 and 19.00 on weekdays and between 10.00 and 19.00 on weekends and holidays (with last orders at 18.30).
Coffee House The Café on the 1st floor of the Main Building offers a range of light meals such as curry, pasta, omelettes, sandwiches, stews, and hamburger steaks and desserts such as puddings, pies, parfaits and cakes. It is open between 10.00 and 21.30 (with last orders at 21.00).
Bar Sea Garden is a British style formal bar on the 1st floor of the Main Building serving a range of wines, spirits, and cocktails as well as light meals and snacks between 17.00 and 23.00 (with last orders at 22.30).
Room service is also available at the following times: 7.00 – 10.00 for breakfast and 16.00 -21.30 for dinner.
In addition, there are a number of restaurants and cafes in the area around the hotel serving Japanese, Indian, Vegetarian, and halal food.

Hotel New Grand has a 24-hour reception desk with helpful and friendly staff. Check-in time is from 14.00 and check-out is from 11.00. Luggage can be left at reception before checking in and after checking out. There is also a concierge service so guests can freely ask advice about local transport and sightseeing destinations as well as for help with restaurant and taxi bookings.
International currency exchange services are available at reception.
The following items can be borrowed from reception: a DVD/Blu-Ray Player, a trouser press, a desk lamp, an iron, a humidifier, and an air purifier.
On the 1st floor of the hotel’s Main building there is a Sundry Shop selling fashion, accessories, and some original hotel goods. On the same floor there is a Sogo Shop (a branch of the Sogo department store) which sells limited edition items which include fashion, food, and assorted accessories. There is also a massage salon on the 1st floor and there is an aesthetic spa for beauty treatments on the Main Building’s 4th floor.
